The project
Euro Finans Invitational is a padel competition with teams consisting of Sweden's best padel players paired up with Spanish players from the World Padel Tour, to form new constellations. The game consists of four competitions spread across the country.
The problems
The company already had a website, but it did not work in their favour. It was hard for the users to complete the tasks that the company intended to offer them with the website, such as getting the correct information about the tournaments and schedules in the right time, buying tickets, streaming the games, and viewing the results after each game. The client also felt like the website was not reflecting their visual brand identity. Another problem with the website was that it was hard for the editors to update the website with the correct information such as game schedules and results, since there was no efficient solution for this in admin.
The new website
By getting a deep understanding of the padel tournaments, the users, and the field, we created a new website structure with a new information hierarchy, added new functionality, and used their current brand identity as a base to create a new website design that strengthened their visual brand identity and was more visually appealing. Some of the main improvements for the new website were the following:
- Shorter and clearer path for buying tickets and streaming the different games.
- Real time API scoreboard on the homepage and a new results page to make it easy for the users to follow along.
- Responsive CSS tournament bracket to give the users an overview of the different games in the tournaments, the times, locations and players.
- New "partner" pages to attract new sponsors and partners.
- A new page to present all the Spanish and Swedish players/ constellations & their bio.
